What we do
Our workshop and studio is based in the South Downs National Park, between Petworth and Midhurst. It is where all of our joinery is designed, developed and manufactured.
Visitors are welcome by appointment. When you visit, you can see how we work and view examples of windows, doors, timbers and ironmongery used across our projects.
We can also talk you through the full process so you understand what is involved from initial design through to installation.
We typically begin with an initial discussion to understand your project, requirements and ideas.
To get started, we usually need:
- Dimensions
- Budget guidance
- An idea of style or reference images
From here, we can support the project through design, detailing and manufacture as required.
You will often deal directly with Benjamin Hill, Director of Green Man Joinery, throughout the process. Where needed, CAD drawings and samples can be produced to support decision-making.
We also work with a trusted team of joiners and project managers who support delivery across all stages of production and installation.
For private clients, we offer a full design and manufacture service for bespoke joinery and cabinetry.
We can work from initial ideas, existing drawings, or reference imagery to develop something that fits the space and building appropriately.
For trade and professional clients, we work from supplied drawings and specifications to provide accurate pricing and manufacture.
We are experienced in working alongside builders, architects and site teams to ensure coordination and clarity throughout the project.
Where possible, we aim to minimise waste across our workshop processes.
Offcuts are reused where appropriate, and sawdust is converted into briquettes used to heat the workshop during colder months. This helps reduce waste and supports a more efficient working environment.
When we're not at the workshop...
Ben has a real passion for surfing and most other sea based sports. The workshop doubles up as wonderful surfboard/paddle board storage with a bespoke handmade surfboard rack pride of place in the office!!
We are a family run business so spend lots of time with our families outside of work also. Everyone has dogs at the workshop (sometimes in the workshop if they're well behaved!!) so we do lots of dog walking which quite often ends at the pub. We try and go to watch live music as much as possible as music is a massive part of everyones lives...if you visit the workshop you will see Ben's homemade speakers in pride of place above the spray booth, you've got to have a good soundtrack whilst you're crafting.
